| Elders' Retreat 2010 |
| Our Elders are the spiritual leaders and ministers to the congregation. They do not take care of business, deal with finances, or make fiscal decisions for the church. They are responsible for ministering and see themselves as shepherds.
Our Elders visit in the hospital, nursing homes, and serve communion to our shut-ins. They minister to our children in Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, teach adult Sunday School Classes, sing in the choir, preach when needed, lead worship at Juliet Fowler, participate in area ministries and faithfully attend Bible Study and fellowships.
Our elders minister to the congregation and serve alongside the pastor. Our current eldership is a strong, wise, and loving group of six men and six women (including our Minister Emeritus) who faithfully serve our church and make lifetime commitments to this important role. When the congregation grows to the point that more spiritual leaders are needed, a new elder is chosen by the eldership and begins a year long internship during which they serve alongside our ordained elders and are then presented to the congregation.
